How to remove coffee stains from a memory foam mattress?

We enjoy sipping a cup of warm cereal while lying in bed. You sip one minute and the other thing you know is your mattress! What to do?

First, remove excess coffee from the mattress. It should not completely penetrate, otherwise you will have a hard time getting rid of it. Now prepare the soda, water, vinegar, sponge and empty spray bottle.

Step 1: Spray the affected area with room temperature water to get rid of surface stains and prevent further damage to the mattress. Hot coffee spilled on the memory foam mattress can damage the foam, so stop the heat immediately by spraying with cold water or room temperature water.

Step 2: Now mix one cup of white vinegar and four cups of water and place it in the previously prepared spray bottle. If you do not have a prepared spray bottle, simply place the solution in a bowl and apply it to the affected area with a sponge. Give a little scrub to allow the solution to penetrate better. Leave it to dry for a few minutes, about 30 minutes.

Step 3: After 30 minutes, the vinegar had already got rid of most of the stains. If there are still obvious stains, baking soda will help. In the meantime, spray the affected area again with clean water to get rid of the solution. Clean the surface with a sponge.

Step 4: You can now apply the soda. Just sprinkle it on the stained area. It is best to sprinkle it when the damaged area is still quite wet. It should quickly absorb soda. Leave it to dry for another 30 minutes.

Step 5: If you have a convenient vacuum cleaner in your home, vacuum the affected area. This will get rid of stains along with soda residue. If you don’t have this cleaner at home, a hair dryer should work just as well. Place it on the lowest heat and point it at the affected area.

Avoid using cleaning tools such as hydrogen peroxide or bleach in memory foam. These cleaning agents can actually damage and replace the mattress. To quickly resolve the issue, try the steps above to extend the life of the memory foam.
