Starbucks Nutrition: 3 Tips to Avoid Hidden Calories in a Cup of Coffee

Starbucks nutrition is not readily available on their website. So if you like a cup of joe, it’s important to learn what you should and shouldn’t drink.

You could drink a 600-calorie drink full of sugar and fat without even knowing it! In this case, ignorance is not a blessing, especially if you are trying to lose weight after pregnancy.

Here are 3 tips for switching to another Starbucks coffee stop so you don’t drink the full equivalent of a meal in one coffee drink.

Tip 1: Lean drinks

Starbucks offers a variety of soft drinks. These lean drinks contain sugar-free syrup, skim milk and no whipped cream. An example would be a high lean vanilla latte. You need to get your coffee set at 90 calories. Not a bad sweetened coffee drink.

If you don’t like the taste of coffee and you like the pure taste of coffee, choose a high-fat non-fat cappuccino for 60 calories. It’s an even better choice than lean-tasting drinks.

Or, if you really want to reduce your calories, get a high cafe Americano or just brewed coffee. Americano has 10 calories, while brewed coffee has only 5 calories. But keep in mind that when you start adding cream and sugar, the calories start to increase.

Tip 2: Skip the paste

It can be hard to resist a cake when you buy a cup of joe, especially when the baristas offer you samples at the counter! However, it may be best to pass a zucchini walnut bun for 490 calories. Who knew someone with zucchini would have so many calories?

Imagine if you got that plus white peppermint moth and you watch a total of 930 calories! That’s a lot of calories for a little coffee and cake.

If you are hungry, a better option would be a strawberry yogurt parfait with 300 calories. Add this to your lean vanilla latte and your breakfast is only 390 calories. This is not a bad way to start the day.

Tip 3: Try tea instead

There has been a lot of excitement about tea lately, namely green tea for weight loss. If you choose brewed Tazo tea, your drink has 0 calories.

To lose weight, you basically want to burn more calories than you consume. Drinking tea can save you calories in the weight loss process.

In addition, green tea is good for health. Benefits such as fighting cancer and heart disease, lowering cholesterol, burning fat, stopping diabetes and stroke, and delaying dementia.

So the next time you decide to drink coffee, remember these Starbucks nutrition facts. When you know what to drink and eat, you may be better off losing all or more of the weight you gained during pregnancy.
